Scholarships
Funding Futures
Thanks to our generous donors, scholarships have helped students create better futures, build meaningful friendships, and decrease financial burdens.
By investing in local students, communities not only help develop their future workforce and leadership but also create a cycle of giving back, as scholarship recipients often return to serve their communities with newly acquired skills and knowledge.
All scholarships must be hand-delivered to The Foundation United Way Office by March 31st.

Clements High School
Angie King White Memorial Scholarship
About the scholarship:
The Angie King White Memorial Scholarship was established after her death on February 4, 2013, and is endowed with funds donated by those whose lives she touched in some way. Angie was the daughter of Andy Baugh King and Janice Black King, wife of Ronnie White, and mother of Austin King White and Cole Brennen White. She graduated from Clements High School in 1984 and subsequently received a B.A. Degree from Athens State College and M.Ed. Degree from Alabama A&M University. However, her life is measured by her service to others more so than by her professional accomplishments. She recognized that demonstrated academic achievement is important, but the potential contribution one will make to society is not determined solely based on that achievement. She believed that the potential of one’s impact on society is more directly determined by their commitment to serving Jesus Christ and their fellow human beings.
The Angie King White Memorial Scholarship is established with the following two (2) objectives:
- Memorialize Angie King White because of the service she contributed to Clements High School, Seven Mile Post Road Church, and the surrounding communities.
- Honor a student who demonstrates a similar commitment to serving their school, their church, and their community and who wishes to extend their education beyond high school.
Selection Criteria:
- The candidate shall be a senior at Clements High School in good standing with their teachers and the administration.
- The candidate shall be a Christian who is active in their youth group or the ministries of their local Christian congregation.
- The candidate shall have demonstrated and documented significant service to their school, church, and/or community.
- Because academic achievement is necessary to be academically successful beyond high school, the candidate should have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0. However, it is recognized that the potential value of a student’s contribution to their community is not defined solely by their GPA. Therefore, candidates who have demonstrated substantial service to their school, church, or community shall be eligible for the award.
The application submission date is no later than March 31 of each year. The Scholarship Committee and a member of the White/King family will meet and select the recipient. That recipient will be announced on Senior Awards Day.
