Who We Are
Our History
The Foundation of Limestone County can trace its roots back to 1950.
In the shadow of loss, the Markowitz family provided a scholarship loan for a local high school student to honor the memory of their teenage son, Buddy. In 1951, the Markowitz’s, along with several friends, formally established the Buddy Markowitz Scholarship Endowment Fund.
In 1988, the fund officially became a 501(c)(3) and the growth has only continued.
